“Pizzelly” is an mock Italian cookie company that aims to sell traditional homemade pizzelles. If you’ve had one, you’ll never be able to buy store bought again. Growing up in an Italian family, these are a staple at any family event, holiday, or gathering. They are the most finicky cookie and if the batter isn’t just right and the iron hot enough, godspeed. I always joke that literal sweat and tears go into making these, and hours spent standing over the pizzelle iron, which only cranks out two to four cookies at a time. There is no walking away from these wafers while they cook. Love is the main ingredient, and you can taste it. I wanted the packaging and colors to reflect the delicate lace cookie, simple ingredients, and recycled packaging.

The goal of “secondii studio” is to fill a gap in the textile circular economy to avoid fabrics being added to landfills, while also doing a bit of good for those in need. It’s my belief that every item should have a second life, especially in in the consumer world we live in. This led to me choosing the name secondii, meaning “second” in Italian.

Secondii studio’s mission is to upcycle used fabrics and textile remnants that can be re-imagined into new items. The focus this year is on stockings. Please consider buying one for yourself, as a gift, gift bag, or buy on and donate it to be filled and sent to along to family in need.
